Hi!
Bhagavan’s Blues Jam Track with lead guitar on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=di0UIkW36io
In this video I am creating a Jam Track with one of my original compositions. The basic progression is:
|Am |Am |Am |Am |
|Dm |Dm |Am |Am |
|Em |Dm |Am |Am |
|Em |Dm |Am |Am |
I start off by playing some improvised lead guitar for one progression and then leave one progression free for you to improvise along with my rhythm track. I repeat this for "4" times through the basic 16 bar blues progression.
The equipment being used is: 2006 Taylor GS Koa (bongo sound is created by hitting the back of the guitar), vintage maraca made in Mexico. The rhythm track is played with a Herco Flex 50 Nylon pick. The lead guitar track is played with a Golden Gate pick.
The audio recording was done using Rode NT5-Matched Pair microphones into an Apogee Duet into an iPad Air running GarageBand. I am using a pair of AIAIAI TMA-2 Modular Young Guru Preset headphones for monitoring.
Peace Out!~Mick

I am playing a 2006 Taylor GS Koa acoustic guitar fingerstyle with a capo at the 2nd fret. NOTE: I keep the fingernails of my right and left hands very short.
The audio recording was done using a Shure SM-57 and Heil PR-40 microphones into an Apogee Duet into an iPad Air running GarageBand. I am using a pair of AIAIAI TMA-2 Modular Young Guru Preset headphones for monitoring.
This video slideshow is dedicated to the memory of my mother, who was a huge fan of Eva Cassidy; especially the album "Songbird".

Hi!
Em-Fmaj7 Jam Track with lead guitar - Apogee Duet on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5VAmDHt__A
In this video, I am just jamming over the chord progression Em to Fmaj7. My basic approach is to start off with the notes from the Key of C (E phrygian) in the open position of the guitar and then gradually make my way up the fretboard through the various positions of the Key of C (E phrygian) about every 4 measures (||Em | Em | Fmaj7 | Fmaj7||). Later on in the jamming, I'm also using the Em pentatonic scale in various positions.
The equipment being used is: Gibson Les Paul Historic, Fulltone OCD (set for a clean boost into the compressor), ART Levelar-Tube Compressor, Custom Billm Modified Fender Blues Junior, D'Addario NYXL Nickel Wound Strings 09-42, Horizon right angle cable, Golden Gate pick.
The audio recording was done using a Shure SM-57 and Heil PR-40 microphones into an Apogee Duet into an iPad Air running GarageBand. I am using a pair of AIAIAI TMA-2 Modular Young Guru Preset headphones for monitoring.
The backing track is the same recording setup; except I am using a Herco Flex 50 Nylon pick to play the rhythm part. The percussion track is the DrumJam app for iPad.
The video was shot with an iPhone 6s Plus with the FiLMiC Pro. Lighting is "2" Fancier Studio Fan 500A 3 LED Light Panels.
I used GarageBand to sync the video and audio together and to add some subtle audio processing.
Peace Out!~Mick

Hi!
Blue Bossa-Apogee Duet-Chord Melody-Key of Em on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Y-eMlDOIik
In this audio recording, I am playing the jazz standard "Blue Bossa" in a chord melody style in the Key of Em. This recording represents one of my initial attempts to learn how to do audio recording with an Apogee Duet. The photo in the video is the actual setup that I used.
The equipment being used is: Gibson Les Paul Historic, DOD 275 Active Direct Box, ART Levelar-Tube Compressor, Custom Billm Modified Fender Blues Junior, D'Addario NYXL Nickel Wound Strings 09-42, Horizon right angle cable, Cocobolo wooden pick by PickslaysWoodworking.
The recording was done using a Shure SM-57 and Heil PR-40 microphones into an Apogee Duet into an iPad Air running GarageBand. I am using a pair of AIAIAI TMA-2 Modular Young Guru Preset headphones for monitoring. A guitar tab for this Chord Melody arrangement has been on my "to do" list for quite awhile. I will certainly post a link when it is completed.
NOTE: I discovered by trial and error and some internet research that I could use an active direct box with a ground-lift switch to get rid of an annoying "ground noise hum" that I was getting through my guitar amp.
Peace Out!~Mick
