In this video, I am doing a basic demo of the Rode iXY Stereo Microphone with a 2006 Taylor GS Koa. The chord progression that I am using is: Em-D-C-B7. This happens to be the beginning of the flute solo from the Moody Blues song "Nights in White Satin".
I start off the video by playing with an Dunlop ULTEX .060 large triangle pick. At 1:05 I switch to a Golden Gate Mandolin pick (the Ultimate Jazz Guitar pick). At 2:32 I switch to a Cocobolo wooden pick by Pickslayswoodworking. At 3:48 I end the video with some basic classical fingerpicking and simple flamenco-type strumming with rasqueados.
The video was shot with an iPhone 6s Plus with the FiLMiC Pro app, Apple Lightning to 30-pin Adapter and a Rode iXY Stereo Microphone. The mic was approx 12-16 inches away from the front of the sound hole of the guitar.
I used GarageBand to add some subtle audio processing.
Merry Christmas! Happy New Year!
"Every revolutionary idea seems to evoke three stages of reaction. They may be summed up by the phrases: One, it's completely impossible. Two, it's possible, but it's not worth doing. Three, I said it was a good idea all along." - Arthur C. Clarke
