Best Of Mick Dennis-2007

I truly believe that these recordings represent some of my "most creative" work! After spending 10 years in my musical archives, I have decided to "freely share" this music with anyone who has the "ears to hear"! It is my sincere hope and desire that someone, somewhere will find my creative efforts: interesting, inspiring, innovative, quirky, intense, fun, challenging, musically satisfying, stimulating, guitar love.... The link above will be active for a "limited time only" till the end of the month on August. These recordings are from a period that I often jokingly refer to as "Mick's Summer of Metal"!

"Iceberg dripping...."
This track is my attempt to write a Nirvana inspired song. The power chord riff is very simple and primal. The lyrics are just me actually laying on the floor on a 90 degree day in the summer free associating lyrics to try to make me feel cool. I was drinking some type of chocolate drink concoction with cayenne pepper. Listen with headphone to hear the panning technique that I do with the lead guitar riff at the end. I'm adding an "old school" vinyl sound at the end of the track to make it sound like the end of a record.

The computer voice-like sounds are an electric guitar processed through a ring modulator. The ambient bed is created with a Digitech looping pedal. Whoever is the first person to correctly identify the footsteps sounds at the beginning and at the end of the recording will revive a free "mickdennisguitar.com" tee shirt! Sorry, this offer is available to United States residents only.

Believe it or not, the lead guitar on this track is my Gibson Super 400 which I recorded clean and them re-amped through a high gain amp plug-in!
