step  - C G C F A D.

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
This is another digital collaboration with my daughter Emily. I sent her a guitar recording with no click track and she
added her beautiful vocals. All the video and audio editing was done by Emily. Hope this puts you in the
Christmas Spirit!

Mary, Did You Know - Natalie Cole Tribute - Guitar

In this video I am playing a 2006 Taylor GS Koa with a Herco Flex 50 Nylon pick along with the recording of Natalie

Cole singing "Mary, Did You Know" from her album "The Magic Of Christmas". This was one of my mom's favorite

Christmas songs!

The backing track is being played through a Jawbone BIG JAMBOX using the Capo app for iPhone.

The video was shot with an iPad Air using a Tascam iM2 stereo condenser microphone.

We Three Kings - Solo Guitar - Fingerstyle - Jazz Improv

NOTE: the "guitar tab" is only for the "first part of the video" which is played fingerstyle on a Takamine CP-132SC nylon string guitar. After a short pause at 1:30, I improvise around the melody of the song using a PICKBOY Exotic Pick-horn. Starting at 2:28 and 3:03 and 3:38 I am using a G Major hexatonic scale (G A B C D E) to improvise over the 4 bar G chord to C chord changes. The "jazz waltz" backing track was recorded on the Takamine nylon using GarageBand for iPad. For the video, you are hearing my iPhone running the Capo app through my Custom Billm Modified Fender Blues Junior. After another short pause 4:04, I interpret my basic arrangement using descending arpeggios ala "Spanish Romance". I throw in some rasqueados starting around 4:56 to finish up the video. Interestingly, I pulled out an old A-Frame Guitar Support by SAGEWORKS to use for this video. The video was shot with an iPad Air using a Tascam iM2 stereo condenser microphone.

A pic of amp settings.

Santa Baby-guitar cover-Dec. 20,2011

In this video I am playing along with the original Eartha Kitt version. I am playing with the capo at the 1st fret. This is another good one for a beginner to intermediate guitar player. The Verse can be played using the chords: C, Am, D7 & G7. The Bridge can be payed using the chords: E7, A7, D7 & G7. *Note: there are other "chromatic chords" in the original version but I have chosen to leave them out to make the arrangement easier to play. Hope you enjoy playing along with this timeless classic.

Hark the Herald-guitar cover-Dec. 20,2011

In this video I am playing along with the Charlie Brown Christmas version of this song. I am playing with the capo at the 3rd fret. This is another great song to learn if you are a beginning to intermediate guitar player. The entire song can be played with the chords: D, G, A, A7, E7, Em & B7. Hope you enjoy playing along with this timeless classic.

Feliz Navidad-guitar cover-Dec. 20,2011

In this video I am playing along with the original version by José Feliciano. This is a great song for beginners to learn because it can be played using a handful of basic chords: D, G, A or A7 & Em or Em7. Enjoy playing along with this timeless classic.

Christmas Music Slideshow

Here is a unique approach to sharing my arrangements. If you can't read music or don't know jazz chord theory you might find the "Silent Night"  tab 1:34-1:52 easy and fun to play. I also have a lead sheet of my very popular arrangement of "The Little Drummer Boy" 1:22-1:32. What you are seeing in these slides is the actual music that I look at when I play these songs. They can all be found on my You Tube channel - mickdennis4. Good luck learning to play these timeless classics. The audio track is me playing "Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire" on my Gibson Super 400 through a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe amp. It was recorded using the "Quick Voice Pro" app for iPad and processed with Logic Pro. Happy Holidays!
